In chapel on Monday the 25th Mr. Hansen will share his music with the Upper School. The selections he will be playing are by the group Jaguar. Their music is typical of the music from Peru. Peruvian music has a very distinct sound. The charango ( a small mandolin- like instrument) and the zampona ( a wooden panflute) are the core instruments. Simon and Garfunkel "borrowed" that sound for one of their hit songs "El Condor Pasa"

I really enjoyed Ms. Zhang's music today (9-8-08) and her comments about the welcoming sounds represent China's attitude toward the rest of the world as they visit China during the Olympics and after.
